Our verdict

Husqvarna Automower 410 iQ

The 410 iQ suits half-acre lawns where you value Husqvarna's track record and the option of local dealer service. It handles 45% slopes inside the lawn and cuts up to 4 in tall. It costs more than rivals with similar coverage, and its boundary slope limit is a modest 15%.

Buy it ifYou want an established brand, dealer support and a high cutting height for cool-season grass.
Skip it ifYou want the most coverage for the money, or your lawn edges are steep.

Boundaries are virtual, set in the app by driving the mower around the lawn; no perimeter wire is needed. Positioning uses Husqvarna's EPOS satellite system with a reference station for centimeter-level accuracy. Radar detects objects in the mower's path so it can slow down and avoid them.

Features

  • Up to 0.5 acre, or 0.25 acre for complex lawns.
  • Cutting height 1–4 in, adjusted electrically from the app.
  • Random, stripe and checkerboard mowing patterns.
  • Cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity through Automower Connect, with GPS theft tracking and geofencing.
  • IPX5 rating, so it can be hosed down.

Limits

The slope rating is 45% inside the lawn but only 15% at the boundary, so steep edges need planning. Husqvarna lists about 84 minutes of mowing per charge and about 108 minutes to recharge. At $2,999 it's priced well above the GOAT O1000 RTK and Navimow i110.

Questions

Where can I buy it?

Best Buy sells it, and so do Husqvarna dealers, who can also install and service it.

Does it need a perimeter wire?

No. Boundaries are set virtually in the app using satellite positioning.
